16.5 Jancis Robinson (Walter Speller) - "100% Nebbiolo. Total skin maceration time 10 days. Aged for six months in stainless-steel tanks. Youthful mid ruby. Perfumed and deep red-fruit nose with loads of appeal and with a note of mace. Sappy, fresh and without huge depth but with sandy tannin and crunchy red fruit on the finish. "

Our notes - "Potpourri & dark flowered nose. Iron filings rather than bloody ferrous minerality.  Some hints of balsamic.  Aniseed pulsing through with alpine herb & amaro tang.  It’s reticent on opening but unfurls with air. It’s a shyer rendition of this wine at odds with its warmer growing season. The tannins are lacey & remarkably fine but present and persistent. Arguably the most intriguing & complex release yet from Guido of this wine."
