Musso Barbaresco Lunch - Palazzo Salato
A One-Off Lunch Showcasing the Famed Wines of Musso Barbaresco
On Saturday, September 30, Palazzo Salato will be hosting a lunch dedicated to one of Italy’s greatest producers of Barbaresco: Azienda Agricola Musso.
Founded in 1929 by Sebastiano Musso, it’s now run by his descendants Valter and Emanuele. Barbaresco – the lighter, more ethereal sister to Barolo – makes up 40% of the famed family’s wines, but their vineyards located in the region’s four most prestigious crus are also growing traditional varieties like Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis. At this one-off lunch hosted in our grand private dining room, we’ll be pouring eight of the best, including Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d’Alba and rare back-vintage crus of Barbaresco from importer Rody Hall of Ethereal Wine’s personal cellar.
To pair with the wines on the day, Executive Chef Alex Major will be cooking up a complementary nine-dish lunch, starring traditional Piemontese classics. Expect vitello tonnato, risotto with Piemontese hazelnuts, beef shin braised in Barbaresco and a dark chocolate tart to finish.
