94 Points, Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) – “Green pear, pistachio, chamomile, a little mint and herb, a light honey floral thing too. It’s bright, has a nutty feel to texture and gentle powdery grip, cool acidity, but then it also has some flesh and flavour too, and a fine finish featuring some almond meal and excellent length. A thoroughly lovely expression of this grape variety.”

A stunning release of this ultra-consistent wine.  Extra nerve & acidity from the mild growing season has a realised a Gavi with super length & drive. 

100% Cortese from Piedmont.  Piona are a low intervention producer who farm organically.  The wines are raised in stainless steel, preserving its excellent acidity.  What distinguishes Piona from other Gavi we have tasted is quite simply flavour.  There is no neutrality to these wines - they are delicious.

Bricco delle Farfalle is Piona's single vineyard Gavi and derives its name from the hill where the fruit was sourced where butterflies are abundant.  Bricco delle Farfalle meaning hill of the butterflies in Piedmontese dialect.
