93 Points, Neal Martin. Vinous - "The debut 2024 Mâcon-Verzé L'Essart comes from the titular lieu-dit on white limestone soils. It has a very mineral-driven nose with a little more intensity than the regular cuvée, with crushed stone and a little gunflint. The palate is tensile right from the start, with slightly more sapidity, perhaps Puligny-like, and a vibrant green apple finish that lingers. Superb!"

100% Chardonnay from a superb plot of 50+ year old vines in Mâcon-Verzé.  A whiff of spearmint & crushed rock on the nose.  The phenolics are a highlight here with lemon pith characters on a laden finish of superb length.  It's benchmark Mâcon for quality but perhaps not for style - it's ultra tight & steely.
