2024 Monchiero Quattro Filari (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

Pre-arrival price only, wine will be $49 when landed early to Mid-October.

Yields were miniscule in the 2024 vintage and as such we only received 60 bottles of this wine. 

Quattro Filari means Four Rows - as Monchiero have just four rows of these old vines.

The very mild 2024 growing season produced whites with very high natural acidity – with excellent cellaring potential.

The 2024 Quattro Filari is a Moscato, where fermentation occurs in stainless steel continuing until the wine has been vinified as a dry wine.  The fruit is all from old vines in Treiso.  The Treiso area of Barbaresco has long been considered one of the great Moscato terroirs of Piedmont, so much so that despite its separation from the Asti area – Moscato produced here is afforded Moscato d’Asti DOCG status.

After the initial fermentation in stainless the wine is further aged in amphora to add some texture & shape to the wine.  It’s an idiosyncratic wine of huge aromatic complexity.
