2024 Monchiero Langhe Nebbiolo Anfora (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

Very limited – production is tiny

100% Nebbiolo raised in amphora.  The trademark of this wine, since its inaugural release of the 2021, has been ultra-fine tannins, early accessibility & high drinkability.  The 2024 release has the silkiest tannins to date.  So light in colour, there’s a rosewater lift on the nose with scents of macerated strawberry. The nose belies the palate as there’s hints of sweetness but the flavours are all savoury, albeit very succulent. Like a savoury Turkish Delight. A gentle sense of dried herbs gives way to bright red fruit on a very long finish of svelte uber fine tannins.  It may well be benefit from a year or two in the cellar but it’s so damn delicious now.  Sealed with a wax capsule for the first time.
