2023 Ruggeri Corsini 'Rosin' Langhe Rosato
93 Points - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) - "Cherry, ripe strawberry, almond, aniseed or maybe liquorice root, a dusting of white pepper and spice. It’s soft, fleshy and supple, ripe red fruits and blood orange dusted with spice, balanced acidity, kind of peanutty with a crisp and gently dusty tannic finish of excellent length offering a twist of gustatory bitterness. Very good. Touch and go for 94."
100% nebbiolo fruit from Barolo (Monforte).
A perennial favourite of ours but this may be the best & most vinous release yet. Taut & very long. There's a little less colour & mandarin character this release more in keeping with tangerine citrus character but also pomegranate & a little rainier (white) cherry to finish. Its hallmark salinity is there (but dialled in somewhat this release) finishing with that speckle of nebbiolo tannin & some stoney texture. Versatile serious rose that always drinks above its paygrade.
