2023 Piona Gavi 'Bricco delle Farfalle'

The single vineyard / Cru Gavi from Piona.  

93 Points, Gary Walsh (TWF) – “Green pear, almond, chamomile, a little honey, some herbs – the usual suspects – though in this vintage there’s a distinct saline sort of seaweed thing happening. It’s flavoursome, textured, quite nutty and salty, maybe pistachio or something like that, subtly juicy with a ripe lemon acid cut, and a finish of good length. Complex. Distinct. This feels a little more natty, oxidative and low key then some other releases, though it’s good in that way too.”
