2023 Nicolas Delfaud Mâcon-Verzé ‘Le Bien Hureaux’

94 Points, Tip Top Tipple - Kasia Sobiesiak (The Wine Front) - "I’ve tried two of Nicolas Delfaud’s wines and they both drew me right in. Nicolas Delfaud is an ex-somm practising organics, currently in conversion for certification. Another great selection by Ethereal Wines. Le Bien Heureux is a minerally wine, with tension, it’s clean, pure, with a drive of acidity through a fine and detailed, almost milky texture, reminiscent of white tea prettiness. It settles with apples, hay, rolled oats, light cinnamon dusting, brown limes and hazelnuts. It offers a perfect umami and fruit match, bringing a sensation (and satisfaction) of melting prosciutto on slippery rockmelon flesh. With the ripe fruit, it remains fresh and taut. What a delight. No doubt, this is a value white Burgundy offering."

Single vineyard wine from 60 year old vines in Mâcon-Verzé. The soil is on clay limestone, raised in 70% large old wood & 30% stainless steel.

Quintessential Delfaud style of purity & elegance on show here. Green pear, lime' lemon grass & some green almond.  It's lithe with some pebbly mineral texture on a finish of excellent length.
