2023 Giacomo Boveri Piazzera Derthona (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

The flagship cru from Boveri.  Only produced when Giacomo sees fit.  There was no 2020 or 2021 despite these also being excellent vintages at Boveri.

Crystalline release here – so pure.  Gentle texture of wet slate with a little mid palate texture (although more to come with age). Nervy & lithe.  Lemon, lime & lovely salinity. It's superb & a watershed release for Piazzera.

This cru in some ways is a hybrid of the Munta & Lacrime stylistically.  It has some of the stony character of the former & some of the citrus elements of the latter – yet it’s still very much its own thing.
