2023 Domaine Nicolas Delfaud Saint-Veran La Boisserole (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

From vines in excess of 40 years of age this is effectively the flagship wine of Delfaud.  It's sleek & slender Chardonnay like so many of the new brigade of Mâconnais makers. Lots of citrus notes but also delicate white stone fruit.  An essay in restraint but not in the least way lacking in flavour or depth.

Aromas of apple tart, i.e. soft-baked apples with cinnamon wrapped in sweet-salty, crumbly pastry, baked oats, and hazelnut spongcake. There’s more to perfume, like yellow flowers, a summer basket of fruit and nuts, and wild honey. It’s a textural wine of ripeness that satisfies, a finish that doesn’t disappoint and overall flavour that delivers.”
