2023 Domaine Geantet-Pansiot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)
Pre-arrival price only, wine will be $879 when landed.
Tiny production & just 6 bottles for Australia of this signature Grand Cru.
From plantings between 1919-1974 with an average vine age of 75 years.
Located near Griotte-Chambertin, this parcel, at the northernmost edge of the prestigious 'Charmes' climat, produces a Grand Cru of remarkable depth.
Limestone soil rich in marl. The limestone subsoil ensures optimal drainage, allowing the vine to slowly and deeply extract the essential nutrients for its growth.
95 Points, James Suckling. "Quite woody at the moment, but there is excellent depth hidden beneath. Expect dark fruit, from ripe black cherries to almost blackberries. Hazelnut waffle and spices as well. Full-bodied for pinot with fine, powdery tannins that melt with the fruit. Long and spicy in the end. Do give it two or three years in bottle to let the pinot elegance shine through."
17/20 Points, Jancis Robinson. "Leafy, autumnal nose. Fragrant, fine, soaring. Dark cherries and sweetness. Already feels complete and you might not have to wait too long for this."
