2023 Domaine Anne et Hervé Sigaut Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Chatelots"
VERY LIMITED JUST 12 BOTTLES
From a plot of 0.5ha of vines with an average age of 45 years. This plot is set on a slight slope and grows on a soil made mostly of hard limestone. The soil is meagre but full of minerals.
90-92 Points, Neal Martin (Vinous) – “The Chambolle-Musigny "Les Chatelots" 1er Cru has a tightly-wound dark nose, dark berry fruit, commingling with pine and undergrowth scents. The palate is promising: fine tannins, and well-judged acidity, quite harmonious with a twist of bitterness on the finish. It’s a little abrasive at the moment, but time will manifest a fine Chambolle. Give it two or three years”. Drink 2028-2040
89-92 Points, Burghound – “A cool and super-elegant nose features the essence of various red berries along with whiffs of exotic jasmine tea and barely enough wood influence to mention. The lilting and refined though not dense flavours exhibit reasonably good length on the youthfully austere finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges.”
Anne Sigaut on her 2023s – “they’re charming, balanced and speak quite clearly of their respective terroirs. It’s honestly hard to ask for a whole lot more.”
