From 100+ year old vines on slate soil profile at 700m in Aragon.

A stunning wine that despite being grenache & not nebbiolo - in many ways puts us in mind of the great Bruno Giacosa Riserva bottlings of the late 90s & early 2000s.

19/20 Points, Jancis Robinson – “Garnacha with a touch of co-planted Macabeo, planted in 1920 on slate soils in Alpartir. Fermented with 100% whole bunches, followed by 70 days of maceration and aged for 14 months in 450-litre barrels.
A study in delicacy. The tannin, still seeking full integration, is of exceptional quality – fine, precise and promising. The wine flows effortlessly across the palate, light yet expressive, with a refined chalky sensation building through the mid palate. The nose leans towards a more floral register, evoking dried flowers with a subtle, elegant perfume. Still very tight at this stage but clearly destined to unfold beautifully in bottle. A Garnacha of striking finesse – sharp, poised and exquisitely delicate – with a gentle ferrous touch lingering on the back palate. Simply magnificent.”

99 Points, Galloni – “From an old vineyard in Alpartir, Arag¢n, the 2023 Garnacha Jard¡n de las Iguales was fermented in concrete with 100% whole clusters and aged in large barrels. The nose is delicate yet compelling, with blood orange and wild herbs gentian, soft rosemary, thyme and mint alongside pomegranate, rose and rosehip. With air, notes of rhubarb and tea emerge. Whole-cluster grip shapes the palate's texture. Integrated freshness and layers of nuance sustain the long, transparent finish. Complex, energetic and quietly profound, this Garnacha captures the singular voice of Alpartir with striking precision."

99 Points, Parker (Luis Gutiérrez) –“The nose of the 2023 El Jardín de las Iguales Garnacha is stunning and made me go back to the glass over and over again, as it kept changing and unfurling new layers every few minutes. It's perfumed and elegant, spicy à la Vosne-Romanée from the south, with aromas of wild flowers, red fruit freshness, aromatic herbs, curry, celery and even white flowers. It is long, complex and balanced, with very fine-boned, chalky tannins. It has contained ripeness and 12.5% alcohol. Weightless but with structure, power with elegance, it is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove. This is the most complete, most elegant and finest vintage of this wine since they started. It should develop beautifully in bottle and for a very long time. 1,399 bottles, 60 magnums and three double magnums produced”
