The inaugural release from Paitin’s new holdings in Alto Piemonte – and what a debut! It is one of the real highlights of my tasting from 2026.

VERY LIMITED TINY PRODUCTION.

From the glacial & volcanic soils of Sizzano (Alto Piemonte) raised only cement, zero oak.  From vines all over 35 years of age. Nebbiolo 93% & Vespolina 7%.

The gentle hand of extraction of Paitin is at play here – such pure red fruit.  A faint dusting of alpine herbs on the nose. Tart strawberry moving into raspberries.  Beautiful acidity but with no sappy mouthfeel.  The purity of the fruit sings. The length & balance of the wine is positively superb. Such a beautiful texture & mouthfeel at play too, A wine of immense drinkability yet with underlying seriousness.
