Beautiful premier cru white Burgundy at a fraction of the price of 1er Puligny or Meursault.

92 Points, Jasper Morris MW – “Aromatically shy, the palate comes through with a pleasant sappiness tantalizingly contrasted by a marine saltiness. Flavors of lemon curd, quince and crushed seashells meld together through the extended finish. There are 77 ares of 55-year-old vines, and the fruit is vinified in barrels (15 percent new) along with about 8 percent in a Wineglobe.”

Chazelle is derived from the Old French "Case/Chese," meaning house. As this locality is situated near the departmental road that follows the route of the Roman road to Cluny, it's conceivable that there were small farms or Roman settlements in this area.

Vine Age: 45 years, partly from mass selection

Exposure: East facing Terroir characteristics: Plot located halfway up the slopes. 15% slope. Clay-limestone soil, slightly marly; small surface pebbles. Well-drained.
