This is just the second release of this wine from Paitin.  Albesani is the stuff of legends in Piedmont – not just one of Neive’s greatest crus – one of the greatest in all of Piedmont.

Fruit comes from leased vineyards, but the idea is to capture the essence of Neive. The site measures 6,000 square meters and was planted mostly to Nebbiolo in 1990s with a little part of Barbera. it shows a firm structure and a direct character with a salty mineral finish. It delivers sensations of rusty nail and crushed flower. This is quintessential Albesani with good tension and energy to finish.”

17 Points, Walter Speller (Jancis Robinson) – “Very pale ruby. Savoury and lifted nose with subdued red fruit. Elegant mid-weight palate with aromatic raspberry fruit. Fragrant and long and with a firm tannic core. Will age well.”
