92 Points, Gary Walsh (TWF) - "Cherry, pepper, juniper, roses, game meat, aniseed, a bit smoky with it. It’s light to medium-bodied, juicy in cherry and strawberry, dusted with pepper and dried herbs, a fine grip to pumice stone tannin, a subtle pomegranate bite, cool acidity, kind of bloody with an iron-like thing happening. The finish is bright offering solid length. A lot of character, kind of rustic with some farmyard characters, though they don’t bother me much, just duly noted for those averse to things of a more bucolic nature."

Weighing in again at just 12% this is another stellar release of the Lasu from Muraje.

The average vine aga is 50+ years & the old vines performed extremely well in the very cool growing area of Carema (who harvest much later than their cousins further south in Barolo).

Vineyards are cultivated between 300 and 600 mt above sea level, on centuries old terraces supported by dry stone walls on rocky amphitheatre of Carema town in province of Turin (Piedmont, north-west of Italy). The grapes are 60% Nebbiolo and 40% Neyret, Ner d'Ala (local red grapevine varieties, widespread in the Canavese and Pre-Alpine areas); the vines are on average 50 years old and are trained using the ancient ‘pergola Caremese’ (‘topie’ in local dialect) method.
