17/20 Jancis Robinson (Walter Speller) – “Palish ruby with orange tinges. Notes of iron over brooding raspberry fruit. Much more expressive on the palate, with cranberry and sweet raspberry framed by bags of chewy tannins. There is real balance, while the tannins need more time to settle.”

94 Points, Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) – “Dried roses, red fruits, exotic spice, aniseed, some lift. It’s medium-bodied, a calm red fruited richness, some liquorice root, a fine dusty grip to tannin, succulent and perfumed, balanced acidity with a nutty spicy finish of excellent length. A wine of composure and class from this vintage. Some ‘mineral’ bits in play here too. Excellent.”

100% Pernanno Cru from Castiglione Falletto. No Pernanno Riserva was made in 2022, so this wine sees the best parcels of 65 year old vines which commonly go into the Riserva.  It’s a bright almost juicy release with sculpted tannins & great structure.  A distinctly mineral feeling release with prodigious length.
