2022 Mark Haisma Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny
Very limited.
93-95 Points, Jasper Morris - "Deep purple. The nose shows a few stems mixed in with an impressive and concentrated fruit. Dark berries, bilberries, yet juicy, much more in harmony than I found the 2021. “It’s a super piece of dirt” says Mark. Liquid black raspberries. Three barrels made.
94-95 Points, James Suckling - "Showing savory green olives, currants, seaweed and mushrooms on the nose. Exciting salty and savory character with a medium body and sleek, already nicely integrated tannins. So long. What an intriguing expression.
17.5+ Points, Jancis Robinson - "Glorious nose! Deep, enveloping, complex. Violets, leafy raspberry. Concentrated palate which has great length but does need plenty of time to fully meld and soften. Promises so much for the future, it would be a shame to drink this too early. Tannins are ripe and fine, oak provides a lovely framework for future development.."
