2022 Domaine Nicolas Delfaud Saint-Veran La Boisserole

From vines excess of 40 years of age this is effectively the flagship wine of Delfaud.  It's sleek & slender Chardonnay like so many of the new brigade of Mâconnais makers. Lots of citrus notes but also delicate white stone fruit.  An essay in restraint but not in the least way lacking in flavour or depth. 

93 Points, Mike Bennie - "Soft and pudgy white with a saline handshake. Nicely done. Has some soft stone fruit characters, marzipan, salted almonds, touches of preserved lemon, faint ginger too. Flows beautifully, good extension of flavour with saline minerality dragging things long and to a slightly squeaky point. It feels easy to drink, ultimately charming, almost a haziness to texture too which feels charming. It’s a delicious drink."
