2021 Ruggeri Corsini Bricco San Pietro Barolo

A stunning release from the magnificent 2021 vintage.  Some growers consider the best since the 70s.

A tightly knit nose, with a carefully measured mix of dried cranberries and cherries, smoked orange peel, and herbal amaro-like notes. Forget the fastidiously (and rightly so) puckering tannins, this is now in its prime. What strikes me most is the wine’s resolute assurance and confident pedigree, a “gentleman” in style: refined, composed, and quietly persistent, leaving a long-lasting impression of savouriness interlaced with piquancy and fruit texture. Despite seeming like a long reach for many, it is incredibly giving right now. The paradox of Barolo.”

From a cool site at 430-470m with a SE exposition.  Raised in Slavonian oak for 30 months. A classical & traditional Barolo with terrific selling potential.
