2021 Piona Gavi di Gavi "Gea" Museum Release

Completely raised in Amphora & released with bottle age. A wonderful interpretation of Gavi / Cortese.  A little texture but still super refreshing.  A delicate spice & chamomile tea like character.  Stony as all get out & a whiff of sea salt. It's idiosyncratic & utterly delicious.

The phenolic grip & tensile notes in the wine suggests it will be a very versatile food wine also.

94 Points, Gary Walsh (TWF) - "Salted pistachio and almonds, bagel dough, chamomile, green apple, definite sea spray thing happening. It’s savoury, a slight honey richness, a bright, almost sharp tang of acidity, fine powdery texture, and the finish pulls a bit more juicy, and quite long. So interesting. Different to the other Piona wines, but also excellent."
