95 Points, Gary Walsh, Tip Top Tipple - "This vintage, 2021 was a powerful vintage, and one of the best on record. But gee, these Musso wines are not shy in fruit flavour and intensity in this year. As an aside, I used to notice a bit of oak influence in these wines, but from 2020 on, I can’t really see that. Lots of sweet cherry and raspberry, peanut shells, mint, something a bit stony, and also spicy. Packed with sweet cherry and red fruits, ripe emery board tannin, perhaps a little warmth, but so much juicy red fruit flavour with some black tea and almond paste in the mix. A powerful wine; it really needs some time."

95 Points, Kerin O'Keefe - "New leather, star anise, camphor and dried botanical herb aromas lift out of the glass on the fantastic 2021 Rio Sordo from Musso. Smooth but also showing edgy tension, the savory palate offers juicy Morello cherry, blood orange, licorice and saline alongside polished tannins."
