Maker Master Merchant is a trio of wine folk joining forces: Aaron Mercer (the Maker), Ned Goodwin MW (the Master) and Andrew Jamieson (the Merchant). NSW is their stomping ground, with Aaron based in the Hunter Valley, and Ned and AJ in Sydney, making wines borne of a desire for poised, savoury and eminently drinkable goodness, from as close to their NSW backyards as possible. Each member of the clan has a familial tie to the most historic of wine regions: the Hunter Valley. Each has a reservoir of experience that we can trust in, with the Hunter and the vinous reaches of the Great Divide serving as their playgrounds. Their aim is to provide well-made, sustainably grown NSW-centric wines championing the state as a whole, with a strong focus on organics. The vineyards, organically certified and articulated with a gentle hand and little flourish, deliver their desire for quality, unrivalled value, and ultimately delicious wine to share with friends for excellent times!

The MMM Shiraz is a classic of this style: a blend of Hunter/ Hilltops fruit, with blueberries, lilac and violet floral aromas. Fully ripe but medium-bodied and savoury, with acid and tannin in balance and a saline edge. Top stuff.
