2021 Juxtaposed Old Vine Grenache

92+ Points, Gary Walsh - "From the Wait and Smart vineyards. New packaging. The Dodgy Bros. name has been retired. This was tasted alongside a few other top end Grenache from Blewitt Springs and Clarendon, from the same vintage. Red fruit, nougat oak shows its hand (like a Montelimar from a box of Milk Tray, though don’t mind me), mint, some ginger and spice. Juicy red fruits, mint/dill and a saline character, creamy chalk dust tannin, and the structure here is very good, but gee that oak comes as something of a surprise to me, and at present it’s a bit distracting, though maybe it will be fine and dandy for others. Anyway, seductive style, offering fruit of excellent quality. It may settle down with some more time in bottle."
