95 Points, Tip Top Tipple – Mike Bennie (The Wine Front) – “Stainless steel and old oak maturation from vines planted in typical Jurassic soils of Arbois. A very good deal at $76 as a pre-landing price, $109 when it hits shelves. A topped up expression of savagnin that delivers all the medium weight power and grace of the variety with hallmark saline minerality. Intense, blistering in its pace, juicy in a way but fringed with chalky pucker and limitless (nearly) in its tickle of brine and green almond savouriness. A flourish of sea spray, green apple, gingery notes and warmed, green almonds and briny green olives to sniff on – similar flavours. A magnificent wine, all the seriousness of any of the world’s great varieties, with distinct regionality in tow. You’d throw this in front of chardonnay fanciers and get double thumbs up.”

100% Savagnin grown organically on triassic clay soils.

A non-oxidative expression from Jerome - a mixture of 50% stainless steel & 50% old wood (topped up), left on its lees for 12 months. From a superb albeit very low yielding vintage. Lemon pith, herby & almond like characters with that quintessential Savagnin phenolic structure.  A beautiful, pure & delicious expression of Jura.
