2024 Eric Forest Bourgogne Blanc (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)
Pre-arrival price only, wine will be $95 when landed late September / early October.
Very limited due to the tiny production in 2024.
This is a really serious Bourgogne Blanc – the time you’ll seldom find. White stone fruit is punctuated by citrus notes & high salinity. It possesses rare depth & length for a Bourgogne Blanc.
The fruit is predominantly from the lieu-dit "Le Sabotier" which is East-facing and comes into the shade fairly quickly at the end of the day.
The "Le Sabotier" site is just outside the Pouilly-Fuissé Appellation & the soil is composed of blue marls and decomposed granite. Eric tops it up with a little older vine material from his Pouilly-Fuissé holdings – giving this rare depth & gravitas for Bourgogne Blanc, whilst maintaining the freshness & acidity from its cooler exposition site.
Vinification occurs with native yeasts in barrels (just 10% new oak). Aging is for 11 months, 50% in barrels and 50% in stainless steel tanks without bâtonnage or racking.
