From the superb 2021 vintage & like its stablemate the Rabajà, this was also held back for release after the 2022 on account of its structure.

94 Points, Galloni – “The 2021 Rabaja-Bas was especially fine this year. A backbone of tannin and acid plays off the fruit’s natural ripeness, yielding a firm, translucent Barbaresco that’s also very complete. Rose petals, lavender, spice, menthol, sage and licorice abound. This is an especially fine edition of the Rabaja-Bas. Don’t miss it!”

93 Points, Kerin O’Keefe – “More linear than the Rabajà, the Castello di Verduno 2021 Rabajà-Bas features aromas of ripe wild berry, camphor, dog rose and cake spice accented with intense herbal aromas of rosemary and thyme. On the bright palate, taut, chalky tannins and streaks of bright acidity accent wild strawberry, blood orange and ground clove.”

17/20 Jancis Robinson (Walter Speller) – “Barbaresco. Pale ruby. Savoury and minerally nose with a subtle green tinge and morocco-leather hint. Fluid and elegant but still very closed. Long, gravelly tannins lining the fruit on the finish.”
