Fruit from the lieu-dit Tempéré in Chiroubles cru. The average vine age here is 50 years in shallow pink granite soils. Vinification involves whole-cluster carbonic maceration in cement vats before moving to foudres for 12 months. Farming is organic & despite the zero sulphur addition - have no concerns with the cellaring potential of this gem.
Jancis Robinson 16.5 - "Mid purplish crimson. Less expressive than the Passot wines but with an intense aroma of dark-red fruit. Deliciously dry tannins, like layers of tissue paper and a chalky finish. So fine. Well structured and delicious without being in the least pretty". GV (JH)
