2021 André Colonge et Fils Beaujolais Blanc Balthaz’arts
100% Chardonnay & technically could be labelled Bourgogne - and in saying that the wine would rival many a good quality Bourgogne Blanc at a fraction of the price. Racy, taut & very mineral stuff. But surprisingly textural for the stainless steel elevage. From a terrific white wine vintage too.
94 Points, tip top tipple- Kasia Sobiesiak (TWF) – “This is of excellent value. Zesty and slatey. Green grapefruit pith, green apple crunch, green melon note, limes and hazelnuts tossed through. Understated at first, unfurls mid-palate and lingers in the back, building the salty-rocky minerality with each sip. Very mouthwatering and by extension very moreish. It gets that extra point for the charged mineral-salty-acidity electrolyte theme.”
