2020 Piona Gavi di Gavi "Geras"

A museum release Gavi aged in old wood. Geras was the god of old people, so Piona called the wine this, because Gavi has a great ageing potential, and they wanted to show this somewhat unheralded ageing potential.  Rounder, softer & more textural than the standard bottlings but lacking none of their drive & minerality. Delicious & with a point of difference.
