2020 Paitin Faset Barbaresco
94 Points, Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) – “This is a riper, more throaty expression of Faset, yet still carries the Paitin signature of restraint. Ripe cherry, liquorice, some floral and dried herb notes, also sage springs to mind too.. There’s a good amount of flavour here, but balanced with juicy acidity and stony/brick dust tannin, and the finish is long too, somewhat earthy and punctuated with orange peel and dried flower perfume. The structure here is excellent for a wine from 2020. Lovely wine.”
94 Points, The Wine Advocate - "The Paitin 2020 Barbaresco Faset (with only 3,045 bottles made) shows noticeable power and concentration that reflects the sunny warmth and high temperatures of this vintage. Vineyards in Barbaresco fared well, offering darker wines for sure, but with intact perfumes that are not weighed down by over-ripeness. Ultimately, the vintage character comes off as more accessible, maybe a little softer and more fruit-forward. Black cherry segues to earth, rust and licorice."
94 Points, James Suckling - "This is floral with red berries, citrus blossom and violets, as well as plum skins, cinnamon and hot asphalt. Full and chewy with a firm backbone of compact tannins, that are slightly chalky. Lingering and broad with a dry, earthy finish. Better after 2026."
