2020 Musso Rio Sordo Barbaresco
95 Points, Gary Walsh (TWF), TIp Top Tipple - "Red fruit, cherry, mint and dried flowers, leather and spice. It’s bright, tightly wound, has a cool menthol draw to it, a bit savoury, quite ‘minerally’ with firm stony tannin of lovely ripeness and precision, a little blood orange and peel, and a clean long finish of superb length. Such energy. It’s a wonderful wine. So fine and good. Beautifully made too, and I feel, less oak influence in the wine than prior vintages.
96 Points, Kerin O'Keefe - "The beguiling 2020 Rio Sordo is one of the best wines I’ve ever tried from Musso and is an excellent expression of this famed vineyard site and what has turned out to be a great vintage for the estate. It opens with heady scents recalling pressed rose, new leather, forest floor and pipe tobacco while the full-bodied, structured palate delivers ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, licorice and crushed mint. Firm, refined tannins and fresh acidity keep it balanced and lend an age-worthy structure."
