2022 Monchiero Nebbiolo d'Alba
A wine that just keeps going from strength to strength, this is a stellar rendition again from Monchiero.
93 Points, Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) - Don’t mind me, but this wine has something of an alpine coolness to it, like a wine from Valtellina. It’s red fruited, sports some mint and dried rose perfume, a little spice and dried herb. Medium-bodied, a sort of sandstone feel to tannin, balanced acidity, and a long finish that’s succulent, yet kind of dry too. Very nice, and beautifully turned out.
92 Points, Kerin O'Keefe - "Rose, forest berry, crushed mint and spice aromas form the nose on the fragrant 2022 Nebbiolo d’Alba from Monchiero. Made with Nebbiolo from Scaparoni, a hamlet of Alba and on the border with the Roero growing zone, it’s full-bodied and savory. The elegantly structured palate delivers spiced cranberry, wild cherry, licorice and cake spice set against polished, fine-grained tannins."
