2020 Matunei Mutabilis Rosato

94 Points – Mike Bennie, “Kirsch and sour cherry scents, cinnamon/clove spice, undergrowth whiffs. It’s a ripping stink in the glass. Succulent, fine boned, juicy but with a web of fine tannin slinking along and tightening things quietly. Complex rose, utterly delicious, heaps of detail and a general sense of wow, drinkability and finesse. A real beauty.”

A wine has achieved almost cult status for Ethereal and is very limited and a wine where demand always out strips supply.

Whilst the actual cepage changes from vintage to vintage, the 2020 release is 90% Freisa & 10% Grignolino.

It's idiosyncratic Rosato with lots of fruit and a touch of wildness.  It's bloody delicious.
