95+ Points, Tip Top Tipple – Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) – “Cherry, blueberry, strawberry, alpine herbs lend an amaro coolness, liquorice root, white pepper and spice. almost like cardamom pods, some camphor and tobacco – complex!  It’s medium-bodied, firm and dry, a distinct almost ‘volcanic’ feel to the wine, pumice stone tannin, kind of peppery and spicy, but carries plenty of bright red fruit (strawberries to taste, in particular), and the finish is very long indeed, with plenty of dusty spicy tannin. Such a distinctive and individual wine. It’s almost like Etna x Piedmont in a way, and so interesting in that way. Outstanding.”
