2020 Giacomo Marchiori Spanna
94 Points, Tom Kline (The Wine Pilot) – “The flagship wine from this producer. 100% Spanna with an average vine age of 45 years. Kirsch, red plum, ferrous, with a glimmer of roast tomato umami emerging with air. There’s a new world sensibility to its open and ripe aromas, but a decidedly Burgundian feel to the palate. Red cherry, ferrous, subtle tilled earth, and some gentle resin to the palate, wrapped up in assertive sinewy tannins. Very good. This is only the third release of this wine from a young producer. Certainly, one to watch.”
Serious 100% nebbiolo from Coste della Sesia region of Alto Piemonte. The fruit is selected from forty-years old vines & comes from “Palestro” and “Piazza” vineyards in Castellengo, a hamlet of the village of Cossato. The fruit is selected from forty-years old vines.
Seriously mineral & reminiscent of the terroir of neighbouring Lessona.
