2024 Eric Forest Pouilly Fuissé "La Roche" (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

One of the great vineyards of Pouilly Fuissé which cannot be upgraded to 1er cru on account of an absurd technicality that Eric's parcel is at 401m - exceeding the permitted height of 400m.  Eric's parcel of very old vines sits above 401m with SE exposition.  A spectacular vineyard of calcareous soils, punctuated by fractured rocks.  It's both wide & long with piercing citrus notes. 

The very old vines have performed marvellously in 2024 on the stony & limestone laden soils. Bursting with citrus & very high salinity.  It’s wide and long, abundant with rich fruit which is tempered by the superb natural acidity.

Vinification occurs with native yeasts in barrels (30% new oak). Aging is for 12 months in barrels without racking or bâtonnage.
