2024 Eric Forest Saint-Véran 'La Renommée' (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

From a site formerly known as "La Côte Rôtie" which was a 19th-century cadastral name of this very steep limestone slope. Eric renamed the plot "La Renommée" following pressure from the Côtes du Rhône defense unions! Eric’s holdings were planted in 1979.

"La Renommée" sits in the commune of Davayé. This Eric’s ripest & richest terroir.  The site sits full south in exposition. Even the mild growing season of 2024 cannot mask the power of "La Renommée". Invariably Eric’s most full bodied cuvee, he refers to it as "gastronomic power".

A full force wind chardonnay which could even be mistaken for high end new world.  Viscous & luxurious on the palate with richness of fruit texture. Tropical fruits at play here such as guava and melon giving way less than the normal to the house style of a citrus element finish. It’s a wine full of flavour, a gourmand experience in the glass. 

Vinification with native yeasts in barrels (20% new oak) Aging is for 12 months in barrels without racking (no bâtonnage).
