2024 Eric Forest Mâcon-Pierreclos "Clos des Charmes" (PRE-ARRIVAL ONLY)

Vergisson is the epicentre of the most serious terroir in the Mâconnais. And this is a special Monopole here with predominantly 90 year old vines.  From a Clos surrounded by walls and dry-stone walls with a surface area of 1.5 hectares. A high presence of limestone giving the wine an intensely mineral feel. 

White peach, a little nectarine – the palate is also laden with a wet stone mouthfeel.  It’s textural & wide but in true Eric Forest fashion very long with his customary burst of citrus on the finish. There' no question it's powerful & potent but it's well shy of bombastic. 

Vinification with native yeasts in barrels (25% new oak). Aging is for 12 months in barrels without racking (no bâtonnage) then blending in stainless steel tanks for 6 lunar cycles on fine lees.
