Galloni (Neal Martin) - "The 2020 Bourgogne Blanc Les Bruchots is aged in used barrel that usually undergoes a long alcoholic fermentation, this finishing by Christmas. The has an attractive nose with lemon curd and orange blossom. The palate is well balanced with touches of praline and Clementine, a fine bead of acidity with a touch of sour lemon lending tension on the finish. Fine."

The Louis Chenu Père & Filles estate is a family winery in Savigny-les-Beaune in Burgundy. The family has been cultivating the vines and raising the wine for five generations now. The first plots of vineyard were purchased in 1914. Since 2003, they have been operated by the daughters of Louis; Caroline takes care of the technical part and Juliette of the administrative and commercial part. Their permanent concerns are the respect of the vineyard, the quality of the wine and the reception of customers in their cellar. The vines are all located in the town of Savigny-les-Beaune, in the Côte de Beaune. The main productions are Savigny-les-Beaune Premiers Crus (“Aux Clous”, “Les Hauts-Jarrons”, “Les Lavières” or “Les Talmettes”) but they also produce a rare wine, a Savigny-les-Beaune Village White.

The Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from a 30-year-old plot of vines called “Les Bruchots”. This plot is located in the direction of the Hautes Cotes de Beaune (near the village of Bouze les Beaune), slightly at altitude. The clay-limestone soil is very stony. 2018 benefited from very favorable weather conditions, with heat and lots of sunshine, and therefore harvested very ripe grapes in perfect sanitary condition. The harvest for this plot took place on September 9 under a radiant sun.

Yield: 35hl/ha.

Cultivation and vinification: we have been working this plot in organic farming since 2012, and our harvests are manual. We use indigenous yeasts. This confidential cuvée is aged in French oak barrels from Damy, but no new barrels, we want to favor the fruity side of the wine and especially the freshness. We seek at the time of extraction to obtain a good intensity of color and substance. But this should not be done to the detriment of finesse and typicality.
After pressing and barreling, alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation take place in old oak barrels from 2 to 4 wines. This cuvée is filtered on fine soils and bottled after about 10 months of ageing. Organic wine certified Quality France FRbio10.
