100% Muscadet from 55 year old vines in Sèvre et Maine.  The Goulaine is one of Guipière's Cru bottlings.  It's a very stony vineyard & sees 24 months lees ageing before bottling - giving it additional, texture, depth & intensity. It remains true to house style of saline minerality. Delicious now but also quite ageworthy.  

91 Points, Mike Bennie (The Wine Front) – “Surprising freshness for a six year old wine, and unusual in a way for a release as such from a variety typically thrown into glasses in its nervy youth. This holds some of that ideal, waxy texture, a little briny chomp through the finish, some frisky, green apple crunch making things energetic. The mainstay is a little softness, a bit of aged spread, waxy banana, pickled ginger, aniseed, green mango. That sense of sweet-bitter goodness falls amongst it all. It got better with a little time open and you’d say that it defies its age too. Good gear.”
