Reminiscent of the very beautiful 2018 but perhaps with greater concentration of fruit.

Some strawberry and rose water / Turkish delight like sweetness on the nose.  Palate however is substantially dryer with dried herb, rhubarb & sour cherry notes.  A ferrous blue stone like mineral feel punctuating the finish which is brisk with sappy acid and fine grained tannins.  Unmistakably Nebbiolo & an Alto Piemonte expression at that through & through.

92 Points Tom Kline (The Wine Pilot) – “100% Spanna. 13.5 abv. Taken from rows with softer tannins, shorter maceration, large old oak. Sour cherry lift, red florals, kirsch, and savoury dried herbs bringing further intrigue. The palate is lithe and pure, mineral and bright. There’s still some inherent Nebbiolo tannins but they’re sheer and integrate nicely with sour cherry, fennel, and alpine herbs. Lots of high-toned appeal here.”
