94 Points Mike Bennie, Tip Top Tipple, Top Value- "Nebbiolo from 450 metres above sea level in Valli Ossolane, Piedmont. Importer Rody Hall calls it a ‘summer nebbiolo’ and he’s right, as usual. A family affair growing small plots very organically and making wine in the spirit of growing. Sharply priced for quality. Fine boned and fresh feeling with lots of red berry fruits, woody spices, a touch of cranberry and blood orange zest in the mix – structure is the mainstay though with tightly wound, grippy, refreshing tannins the important bit. Draws long, sits under medium weight, a good sloshy feel mid palate and a long extension of gravelly, spicy chew to finish. Each sip a palate cleanse, per se. A late night nebbiolo, I would add to Rody’s words of summery intent."

100% Prünent clone of Nebbiolo grown  at 450m in a cool site with a SE exposure.  Weighing in at 13% alcohol, raised only in stainless steel.

Prünent is quite possibly the oldest & most historic clone of nebbiolo.  First references to it date back to the early 1300s.

Production at Cà da l'Era is minute - farming a mere 2 hectares. The production of Prünent Nebbiolo at Cà da l'Era is a labour of love.

A vivacious very red fruited expression of Nebbiolo.  Very crunchy & crisp, fine tannins with much of the spice and mineral of its sibling the Prünent superiore.  A summer Nebbiolo if there ever was one to be found.
