2020 Alex Foillard Beaujolais Rouge

Alex Foillard, son of the revered and notorious Jean Foillard is showing us all how it really runs in the blood. From the north-facing lieu-dit Chavannes, with soils of granite and schist and a thin layer of sandy soils over the top. This area provides for wines with distinct minerality and finesse. Primary red fruit and black fruit flavours sit alongside intense secondary and tertiary notes of smoke, chocolate, charred wood and tobacco. 13.5% alcohol and very drinkable.
