The fragrant and complex bouquet initially has floral violet notes before aromas of redcurrant and plum, mint and tobacco, and even a hint of dried blood take precedence. In the mouth the wine is tight-knit, the plump sweetness of the fruit kept in check by taut acidity and tannins that are firm and stony in their grip, blood and ferrous minerality adding to a finish of good intensity and length.
