2019 Giacomo Boveri Derthona ‘Lacrime del Bricco’
Very limited. Single vineyard 100% Timorasso from Tortona.
95 Points, Mike Bennie - "Utterly delicious, textural, rich but super fresh, all the lemon barley sugar water, striking briny undertow, green apple crunch and some green mango characters, all of this doused in a light, herbal piquancy. It sits in the palate shy of medium weight, slippery then with a crunch and delivers plenty of character, the whole time being very refreshing and giving you the sense you’re drinking something serious. Brilliant gear."
93 Points, James Suckling (Ned Goodwin) - "A full-weighted timorasso. A warm year, imparting viscosity welded to an undercarriage of gentle tension. Marzipan, tatami straw and ripe stone fruit allusions. Further embellishment care of a peaty leesiness and reductive tinge. White peach brulee, the signature. Reminiscent of a textural white Rhone, this is an immensely versatile wine for the table. Delicious."
If the ‘Muntà l’è Ruma’ is the white burgundy from Boveri then this is it's sibling from Chablis. It’s bursting with lime like citrus notes and a touch spearmint on the nose, closing with savoury briney mineral notes. Stylistically more in keeping with the 2016 than the 2018.
Grown on white tortonian marl - raised in stainless steel, left on lees for twelve months and aged in bottle for six months before release.
