From a tiny 0.18 ha on the Clos des Ormes and 0.28 ha on the Clos Baulet Premier Cru fields, Tortochot produces microscopic quantities of this excellent Morey Saint Denis Premier Cru.

Clos des Ormes is located in the northern part of Morey St. Denis a stone's throw from the Grand Cru field in the neighboring commune of Mazoyères-Chambertin, while Clos Baulet is just below the town of Morey St. Dennis.

Morey St. The municipality of Denis has somewhat inexplicably not the same degree of fame as the neighboring municipalities it is sandwiched between - namely Gevrey Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny. This is also why the prices of many of the wines from Morey St. Denis also not COMPLETELY run away… yet. After all, good Burgundy is never cheap.

Tortochots Morey St. Denis Cuvée Renaissance is an extremely elegant Morey St. Denis, who beautifully manages to combine intensity and elegance, so that the overall impression achieves enormous complexity.

The wine's transparent red color is followed by elegant, charming aromas of strawberry, cherry, violet, dried spices, forest floor and lime.

Silky soft, it floats over the tongue, the acidity is delicious - and the firm tannin structure also testifies to a good aging potential.

A superb Morey St. Denis, who once again proves how great wines can be made here in this slightly understated municipality.
