2019 Cantina Delsignore Gattinara 'il Putto'

VERY LIMITED. 

From the magnificent 2019 vintage. 100% nebbiolo from the volcanic soils of Gattinara.  Raised in large old neutral oak.  This is a splendid release from Stefano.  Dried herbs, potpourri, spice & other mineral things on the nose.  Svelte fine tannins with soaring length.  A long haul wine from a long haul vintage.

95 Points, Gary Walsh - "Quite some aromatics here, and I’m thinking mint and liquorice root, dried herbs, spice, and red cherry in the fruit department, and maybe some tobacco and new leather. It’s medium-bodied, a sweet and beguiling core of red fruits, amaro herbs and orange peel, slinky fine-grained pumice stone tannin grip, almond too, with freshness to acidity, and a dusty finish offering succulence and minty herbal perfume. Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore, but gee whizz, what an expressive and alpine perfumed expression of Nebbiolo we have here." Drink 2024-2036+
